According to Hardik Pandya, "You can score a lot of runs once you're accustomed to the Australian weather."

About

Hardik Pandya, an all-rounder for India, believes that travelling to Australia 17 days ahead of the World Cup will be good for both him and his country when the competition starts. Till now, Hardik has played in all three exhibition matches and amassed 46 runs without taking a wicket. He will aim to change that when India meets New Zealand in another exhibition game.

What they said

Hardik said in an interview to the BCCI website, "You can't ask for a better scenario for me or the entire team to come here and spend 17 days before the World Cup starts and get accustomed to the conditions, atmosphere, and weather."

Hardik said, "I was always excited to come to Australia and get so much time to prepare because I have always felt that as an individual, if I get the right situations and conditions to practise, you can't ask for a better scenario for me or the whole team to come here and spend 17 days."

The daring hitter added that Hardik was generally happy with how he played in the exhibition games versus Western Australia and Australia.

"The day was successful. It wasn't about the runs I scored, but rather how I played the game and dealt with the circumstances. I managed to centre practically everything out of the 21 odd balls I played," Hardik remarked.

Overview

Hardik mentioned that one of his colleagues had remarked that a player could take advantage of the Australian conditions to his advantage if he could adapt quickly, particularly if he was a fast bowler.

"One of the players brought up a very valid issue, namely that in Australia, it only lasts for one inning. Once you're accustomed to the conditions, scoring a lot of runs is possible if you can secure the inning early in the season. The same holds true for a fast bowler", according to Pandya.

One of Pandya's objectives for this year was to "come and grab a catch that may be one of the best catches of my career," Pandya added.
