Namibia's victory may have made India's World T20 journey more difficult

About

Due to Namibia's victory over Sri Lanka, the island nation may end up in India's Super 12 pool. Despite the defeat, they are still a strong team that will probably advance as one of the top two teams from the group. Both the UAE and the Netherlands should have lost to the Asian Cup champions. If they place second in Group A, they will be placed in a pool alongside South Africa, Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, and Pakistan, with only two of the teams advancing to the semi-finals. Namibia is in a terrific position to advance after Sunday's surprise.

Brief Score

In Group 1 of the Super 12, the Group A winners will be joined by Afghanistan, Australia, England, New Zealand, and England.

In the other Group A game of the day, the Netherlands defeated the UAE by three wickets with one ball remaining. UAE scored 111 for 8 in 20 overs, and by the 14th over, the Dutch were down to 76 for 6. In the last over, Scott Edwards (16 not out) and Logan Van Beek (4 not out) carried the team to victory by maintaining composure. Brief scores: The Netherlands 112/7 (Scott Edwards 16, Tim Pringle 15, Junaid Siddique 3/24), defeated the UAE 111/8 (Muhammad Waseem 41; Bas de Leede 3/19, Roelof van der Merwe 1/19).

Overview

Two-time champions West Indies, Zimbabwe, Ireland, and Scotland make up Group B. India's group and Australia's group will be crowned the winners and runners-up, respectively. On Monday, the West Indies will begin their season in Hobart and should be favourites to defeat Scotland.
