Cricket returns to Asian games after 11 years

According to the organizers of the Asian Games that will be held in September 2022, cricket will be returned to the list of the games. Cricket is returning and will be among other 40 games that will be present in Asian Games this year.

In total, there will be 61 events spread among 40 games. The Asian Games included Twenty20 cricket 11 years ago. The gold medal went to Bangladesh. At the time, India did not participate in cricket. What will BCCI do this time? There is no an answer that, but we do hope India will be included.

In India's history, the Asian Games have been a huge success. India is one of seven Asian countries that have competed in every Asian Games. At every Asian Games, India has won at least one gold medal. With the exception of 1990, India has been in the top ten in every Asian Games medal tally. The Indian team has won 139 gold, 18 silver, and 299 bronze medals in the Asian Games' history.

More than 300 athletes from the Oceania area will compete in this year's Games, in addition to playing cricket for the first time in 11 years. Triathlon, athletics, wushu, roller skating, and weightlifting are all available to Australian and New Zealand athletes. E-sports and breakdancing will make their Asian Games debut in 2022.
