Match Review

On Sunday, July 17, at the Galle International Stadium, Galle, Sri Lanka and Pakistan have play in the 1st Test, Day 2 match of the Pakistan tour of Sri Lanka, 2022.

Despite Sri Lankan bowler Jayasuriya wreaking havoc with his third career five-wicket haul in three innings, Babar Azam and the bottom order made sure Sri Lanka did not gain an advantage in the first innings.

Babar received little assistance from the top rank, but he held his own and scored a superb hundred on a surface with significant turn and bounce and occasional top surface failure.

Sri Lanka only gained a 4-run advantage, and just as Karunaratne and Fernando were getting off to a promising end to the day, Nawaz struck to remove the captain of Sri Lanka and keep the match close once more. To put pressure on Pakistan in the final innings, Sri Lanka needs a target of at least 250.
