India's ODI Squad for Australia Series Revealed Following New Zealand Performance
After Shafali Verma's poor run of form during the recent series against New Zealand, and Shreyanka Patil's absence from that lineup due to shin splints, both players have now been excluded from India's squad for the upcoming three-match ODI series in and against Australia. Other members absent from the team who previously contributed to India's win over New Zealand are D. Hemalatha, Uma Chetry, and Sayali Satgare.
The travelling contingent to Australia will, however, see a return for Harleen Deol, who has undergone a lengthy period of rehabilitation following a knee injury befallen while playing for Gujarat Giants. Additionally, Richa Ghosh, who missed out on the New Zealand series due to school commitments, will also rejoin the squad. However, legspinner Asha Sobhana and seamer Pooja Vastrakar, both injured in the T20 World Cup, are yet to return.
Newcomers making their way into the Indian ODI squad include Minnu Mani, recognized for her lower-order batting contributions and prior leadership of the India A team, and Titas Sadhu, a fast bowler who made a significant impression in the T20Is against Australia and Bangladesh.
The assembly maintains Tejal Hasabnis, who secured her place with a notable performance in the first ODI against New Zealand, and Priya Puniya, who returns following her contribution to the 'A' side in Australia.
The opening match of the series against Australia is set to take place on December 5 at the Allan Border Field in Brisbane, with subsequent matches on December 8 and 11 at the same venue and the WACA in Perth respectively.
