Sanju Samson will not play in India vs. Sri Lanka's T20I series because of a knee injury.

About

Sanju Samson, the wicketkeeper-batsman for the Indian cricket team, will not play in the remaining two games of the T20I series against Sri Lanka. Samson damaged his left knee during the first T20I at Mumbai's Wankhede Stadium while attempting to field a ball close to the boundary ropes.

What they said

According to a BCCI statement, "He was transported for scans and an expert opinion this afternoon in Mumbai and has been advised rest and rehabilitation."

"Jitesh Sharma has been selected by the All-India Senior Selection Committee to replace Sanju Samson."

Overview

Rahul Tripathi might have a chance to make his debut as a result of Samson's injury. Tripathi, a reliable IPL performer, has been travelling with the team for some time but has not yet received a game. India won the first game by a slim margin of two runs, giving them a 1-0 series lead.
