     On Tuesday, December 27, at the National Stadium, Karachi, Pakistan and New Zealand played in the 1st Test, day 2 match of the New Zealand tour of Pakistan, 2022-23. 

     In response to Pakistan's first innings total of 438, Tom Latham (78) and Devon Conway (82) helped New Zealand to 165/0 at day's end on Day 2 of the first Test match in Karachi. New Zealand is still 273 runs behind the hosts. 

     Before being bowled out, Pakistan scored 438 runs on the strength of 161 runs from Babar Azam and 103 from Agha Salman. Early in the day, the team lost Babar Azam, followed by the departures of Nauman Ali, Mohammad Wasim Jr., and Mir Hamza.
