3RD TEST, South Africa vs India: SA won by 7 wickets
What can we say, South Africa never gives up when it comes to Test match…They were even the best traveling team on the planet…
They are still “blockathon” experts. And once you have the ability - the confidence - to bat for the entire days of cricket, a home game target of 212 is nothing to be concerned about.
India battled really hard; they really tried the best they possibly can even with minor tweaks out there. On the fourth day, they started with 4 dots. Plays and misses accounted for two of them. One was a nearly fatal blunder, in which the batter allowed the ball to strike him on an uninterrupted route.
Early on, Jasprit Bumrah went for his yorkers. The sole wicket of the day fell to Shardul Thakur. This is not a threat to be taken lightly. South Africa was well aware of this. They recognized that the 111 runs they still needed to win would need putting their bodies, minds, and spirits on the line. That's exactly what they did.
All in all, it was a great series and we definitely enjoyed watching it and following all the ups and downs of both teams. Many things to learn from.
Let’s dig in some stats here: South Africa 210 (Petersen 72, Bumrah 5-42) and 212 for 3 (Petersen 82, van der Dussen 41*, Bavuma 32*) beat India 223 (Kohli 79, Pujara 43, Rabada 4-73, Jansen 3-55) and 198 (Pant 100*, Kohli 29, Jansen 4-36, Ngidi 3-21, Rabada 3-53) by seven wickets
Amazing fight boys. Great Test series. Well done to both teams for pulling us all in👏
