Pat Cummins Eyes Test Series Win Over India

Pat Cummins, the captain of the Australian cricket team, has yet to experience a Test series victory over India, either at home or away. This record he is keen to change, especially with the upcoming summer series on Australian soil. "It's kind of the one big thing that I want to tick off," Cummins shared in an interview with AAP on Tuesday, "Particularly winning at home. Most Australians, including myself, expect us to do well whenever we play at home."

The Australian team hasn't been doing well against India, having lost the last two series against them. However, Cummins is optimistic for the upcoming big series, believing that the team is in a great place for performing well. "I just always expect us to do well against whoever we play. But India, particularly, is a big year, big season."

The last time Australia got to hold the Border-Gavaskar Trophy was in 2014, after a 2-0 victory in a four-match series at home. Since then, in the four series the teams have played against each other, India has won them all. Two of those wins were on their home ground.

The India team, led by Rohit Sharma, will be arriving for the series with their confidence level possibly wavering, as they just suffered their first home series defeat in 12 years. Cummins hopes that this setback for India will work to Australia's advantage, aiding them in keeping India quiet when the series kicks off on November 22 in Perth. "I think any time a team's under pressure, it's not a bad thing if you're playing against them," Cummins observed. "But they've been out here before and performed well. Our job is to try and keep them quiet, see how we go."
