Ben Stokes claims that England won't alter its attacking strategy while playing Australia in the Ashes
About
The aggressive style of cricket that has helped England win 10 of their past 12 Test matches, according to captain Ben Stokes, will be continued by his team. Before the start of the Ashes series at Edgbaston on June 16, England will play Ireland in a four-day Test match at Lord's starting on June 1. Stokes argues that for the forthcoming Ireland Test and Ashes series, his team must adhere to their present plan of attack.
What he said
"I continually find myself responding to the same query: Will this carry on? It seems quite obvious to me that we have figured out how to maximise both our potential as individuals and as a team. Success has been achieved. It won't always work because there will be wins and losses, but we have been able to develop a system that works for the players we currently have in the locker room. The opposition won't change that," Stokes said.
Overview
Only 17 months have passed since England's humiliating 4-0 loss in Australia, but the team now playing the "baseball" style of football is far more significant than the England team from 2021–2022.
With Ben Stokes leading the team and Brendon McCullum serving as the team's test coach, England has won 10 of its last 12 Test matches, all but giving up on the idea of draws and leveraging their dominance with the white ball to play a very aggressive brand of cricket.
