     MI were halted at 152 for nine after being given a challenging aim of 208. The squad failed woefully to make use of the powerplay, as MI struggled to get off to the kind of start they would have desired, falling to 29 for the loss of captain Rohit Sharma's wicket in six overs.  

     In the powerplay, Shubman Gill made sure GT maintained their run rate. David Miller and Abhinav Manohar prepared GT for a strong finish after he fell on 56 off 34. Miller then fell on 46 off 22, while Manohar dropped on 42 off 21. When Rahul Tewatia stepped in, Gujarat Titans had a score of 207/6 after 20 overs thanks to his 20 runs in just five balls.
