India vs Sri Lanka, 1st T20I: India won by 62 runs

In India's clinical 62-run destruction of Sri Lanka in the opening T20I to grab a 1-0 lead in the three-game series here on Thursday, Ishan Kishan showed glimpses of his tremendous potential with a 56-ball-89 before the bowlers joined the party. This was also India's longest T20I victory run, which presently stands at ten games.

Asked to bat first, Kishan was overpowering at the top, smashing a 56-ball 89, while Shreyas Iyer led the late push with an unbeaten 57 as India amassed a mammoth 199 for 2. The Indian bowlers, headed by Bhuveshwar Kumar (2/9 in 2 overs) and Venkatesh Iyer (2/36), then put the final touches on Sri Lanka's innings, reducing them to 137 for 6 in 20 overs. Ravindra Jadeja (1/28) and Yuzvendra Chahal (1/11) each took one wicket.

India's winning run in T20 matches now stands at 10 games.
