Sri Lanka tour of India, 2022, full squad for T20I series
Sri Lanka tour of India consists of 3 T20Is and 2 Tests, starting on 24th February, 2022. The 1st T20I will take place in Lucknow, after that the teams will be moving to Dharamsala for the remaining 2 matches of T20I series.
For the 3rd and final T20I against the West Indies, as well as the T20I series against Sri Lanka, Rishabh Pant and Virat Kohli have been rested. They have left Kolkata's team bio-bubble. KL Rahul and Washington Sundar are still recovering from injuries and were not considered for the Sri Lanka series.
Axar Patel is presently undergoing rehabilitation and will not be available for the first Test. Later, he'll be evaluated to see whether he'll be selected for the second Test. Shardul Thakur will not play in the Sri Lanka series.
INDIA’S T20I SQUAD
Rohit Sharma (Captain), Ruturaj Gaikwad, Shreyas Iyer, Surya Kumar Yadav, Sanju Samson, Ishan Kishan (wicket-keeper), Venkatesh Iyer, Deepak Chahar, Deepak Hooda, Ravindra Jadeja, Yuzvendra Chahal, Ravi Bishnoi, Kuldeep Yadav, Mohd. Siraj, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Harshal Patel, Jasprit Bumrah (vice-captain), Avesh Khan.
As to Sri Lanka, the team, captained by Dasun Shanaka, was basically the same as the one that fell 4-1 to Australia in a five-match series earlier this month in Australia. Avishka Fernando, Ramesh Mendis, and Nuwan Thushara, who were part of the team that toured Australia, will return to Sri Lanka with injuries.
Ashian Daniel, an uncapped spinner, was selected in the squad "subject to ministerial permission." Wanindu Hasaranga has also returned to the side after testing positive for Covid-19 and missing the past three T20Is against Australia.
