Ex-Pak Star Slams Rahul Dravid for "Irrelevant" Remarks in "First Win The Series"

About

India and Australia's one-day international series has been competitive yet low-scoring. Australia responded to India's victory in the first game with a commanding 10-wicket victory in the subsequent contest. As Chennai will host the series finale, much has been said about the game. On the eve of the final, Rahul Dravid, the head coach of India, stated in a news conference that the team had fulfilled its series goals and would be seeking to rotate a few players. Salman Butt, a former Pakistani batter, has taken issue with Dravid's remarks.

What they said

"According to Rahul Dravid, they would continue experimenting with various pairings. First win in the series! Combination changes are unnecessary. We need to first observe how you resolve your batting-related issues. The misunderstanding begins with all this talk of team combinations. How much change are you seeking?" Butt criticized Dravid for his remarks at the news conference in a video posted to his YouTube account.

"The third ODI and how to win it should be the topic of all current discussions. You can respond that the question has nothing to do with the match if someone else raises it. Combinations should not be discussed so frequently; he has discussed them frequently." Butt continued.

Overview

"We have, in great part, achieved our goals in nine home ODIs. Regardless of what happens tomorrow, we have far more certainty after these nine games. On top of that transparency, we must continue to work," David stated.

"For us, it's now about the different starting XI combinations and just making sure that we play different lineups occasionally just to make sure that we can do it in the World Cup and we are not startled by anything at the World Cup," he said on Tuesday.
