Match Review

     On Saturday, October 29, at the Sydney Cricket Ground, Sydney, New Zealand and Sri Lanka played in the 27th match of the Super 12, T20 World Cup, 2022.

     Glenn Phillips struck 104 runs in 64 balls, and Trent Boult then finished with 4/13 as New Zealand defeated Sri Lanka by 65 runs to advance to the semifinals. After a rocky start for the Kiwis in the powerplay, Phillips and Daryl Mitchell were able to turn the tide. 

     Trent Boult and Tim Southee then sent the Sri Lankans reeling on the powerplay as a result of Tim Southee's century, which helped New Zealand score 167/7. Boult took four wickets after Southee's first wicket-maiden as Sri Lanka struggled to pose any sort of a challenge.
