     In either format, New Zealand's 89-run victory over Australia marked their first victory on Australian soil since 2011. With his numbers, Tim Southee (3/6) was the one who set off Australia's decline. After being given the opportunity to bat first by Australia, New Zealand amassed 200/3 with the help of Devon Conway (92*) and Finn Allen (42).  

     Allen and Conway's opening partnership produced 56 runs off of just 25 balls. Finn made a 42 on a 16-ball. Conway and captain Kane Williamson then shared a productive second-wicket stand of 69 runs (23). James Neesham's 13-ball 26 helped New Zealand finish well.
