Match Review
On Thursday, August 18, at the Lord's, London, South Africa and England played in the 1st Test, day 2 match of the South Africa tour of England, 2022.
An exciting day of play began with South Africa cheaply ejecting Ollie Pope and the English tail. The main wrecker was KG Rabada, who finished at Lord's with a five-wicket haul. When SA batted in response, they put together an 85-run partnership for the first wicket before Elgar unluckily pulled one back onto his stumps off his elbow.
Keegen Peterson and Aiden Markram helped South Africa get some runs, but it was opener Sarel Erwee who stole the show by scoring his first Test fifty. It took a powerful bouncer from Ben Stokes to get him out.
