There are faster bowlers in Indian Twenty20 cricket than Mohammed Shami
About
In response to Mohammed Shami's exclusion from the Asia Cup roster, Australian legend Ricky Ponting believes that Mohammed Shami's strengths lie in the longest format and that India's T20 setup has superior quick bowlers.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Avesh Khan, and Arshdeep Singh are the three professional fast bowlers chosen by India, and all-arounder Hardik Pandya is the fourth pacer in the roster of 15.
What they said
"He (Shami) has long been an extremely talented bowler for India. In terms of his strengths, Test cricket is probably where Ponting excels the most, according to the most recent episode of The ICC Review. Ponting is a two-time World Cup champion captain."
"There are more effective fast bowlers in Indian T20 cricket than Shami, in my opinion, yet they've only named three (for the Asia Cup). He might therefore be the fourth player in the squad if there are four probable names" He added.
Many believed that Shami might be included to share the new-ball duties during the Asia Cup while Jasprit Bumrah and Harshal Patel were both injured.
Overview
From August 27 to September 11, Dubai and Sharjah will host the Asia Cup, with Ponting picking India as the favourite to win.
"It's always difficult to beat India in any competition, not only the Asia Cup, but I believe that India will be right in the thick of things at the upcoming T20 World Cup" Ponting said.
"India will win the Asia Cup because they have better depth than the other teams," He added.
Arch-rivals Since over ten years ago, India and Pakistan haven't played in a bilateral series.
