  India finished the first day of the postponed fifth Test against England with 338 for 8 thanks to a superb century from Rishabh Pant. Pant (146 off 111 balls) and Ravindra Jadeja (83 batting off 163 balls), who tormented the England bowlers, scored 222 runs for the sixth wicket. 20 fours and four sixes were struck by Pant throughout his innings. At the time of stumps, Jadeja had company from Mohammed Shami (batting 0). When Virat Kohli was out for 11 runs in the second session, he suffered yet another setback. As India scored 174 for five at tea, Hanuma Vihari made 20.
