An ex-Pakistani pacer on Arshdeep Singh: "Opposition Doesn't Even Think About Such Bowlers"
About
Aaqib Javed claimed that the opposition doesn't even consider bowlers like him. Arshdeep, who made his India debut in July of this year, has featured in 11 T20I matches so far and has taken 14 wickets at a 7.38 economy rate. His 3 for 12 format performance rate is his best.
The Indian team for the T20 World Cup includes Arshdeep. He also participated in the Indian team's recent Asia Cup campaign, where he had a bittersweet experience.
What He said
"Arshdeep bowls fairly simple. In T20s, you should either have pace or a bowler who can swing the ball like Bhuvneshwar Kumar. Or you should have good yorkers and be tall enough. You must register your trademark," Javed said.
"Arshdeep and other bowlers are simple bowlers." They lack a trademark, and the competition doesn't even consider them as bowlers," Javed added.
Overview
The bowler received a lot of criticism for dropping a catch of Asif Ali earlier in a tense Asia Cup match between India and Pakistan in the Super 4 round of the continental competition. After India lost the game, the left-arm pacer faced vicious trolling on social media. Many previous and present cricket players, though, spoke out in favour of the young pacer and denounced the social media abuse.
