Match Review
On Friday, July 29, at the Brian Lara Stadium, Tarouba, Trinidad, India and West Indies played in the 1st T20I match of the India tour of West Indies 2022.
Mayers pounded them to all corners as West Indies got off to a flying start, but Arshdeep emerged victorious despite giving up 10 off his opening two deliveries.
For the Windies, Jason Holder's promotion didn't quite work out as he was bowled over by Jaddu for a 4-ball duck. Around the eighth over, when Windies gained some momentum by scoring 13 runs in one over, everything was really starting to heat up.
However, when Ashwin and Bishnoi destroyed the potent middle-order, everything rapidly changed.
The Indian spinners bowled admirably to tie the hitters down with deft shift in pace and variations once Odean Smith was out in the 14th over, and there was hardly any intent after that.
