Match Review

On Sunday, July 17, at the Emirates Old Trafford, Manchester, England and India have play in the third ODI match of the India tour of England, 2022.

At Old Trafford, India has made a tremendous comeback, overcoming adversity to easily reach the goal. Rishabh Pant has a big grin on his face as he receives praise from both teammates and opponents. He played brilliantly today, reaching his first ODI hundred and leading his team to victory with just eight overs remaining.

Don't overlook Pandya's contribution, though. Both with the ball and the bat, he was exceptional. As they worked to rebuild the innings from 72/4, Pant was actually the more reserved of the two. But from the moment he walked out, Pandya's timing was impeccable. The two took part in a 133-person stand-off.

When Stokes made a brilliant catch leaping forward to dismiss Pandya on 71, the two had put together a fifth-wicket stand of 133 runs, leaving India just 55 runs away. And Pant mocked that, hitting five boundaries in a single over and concluding with a reverse sweep.

Brief Score

India have scored 261 for 5 in 42.1 overs (Rohit Sharma 17, Shikhar Dhawan 1, Virat Kohli 17, Suryakumar Yadav 16, Rishabh Pant (wk) 125, Hardik Pandya 71, Ravindra Jadeja 7, Extras 7)

England have scored 259 for 10 in 45.5 overs (Jason Roy 41, Jonny Bairstow 0, Joe Root 0, Ben Stokes 27, Jos Buttler (c & wk) 60, Liam Livingstone 27, Moeen Ali 34, Craig Overton 32, David Willey 18, Brydon Carse 3, Reece Topley 0, Extras 17)

Who is the Winner?
