When Aparajith Mankaded Jagadeesan to raise the heat, there was drama in the initial chase. CSG quickly fell to 69/3, but their captain Kaushik Gandhi maintained the chase with an aggressive 64. With 15 needed off the final over bowled by Athisayaraj Davidson, Harish Kumar retained the strike and sent the game to a Super Over with a four off the penultimate ball. His removal altered the game, but the finisher unleashed some massive shots.

Davidson did an excellent job in the Super Over to keep it to 9 despite a last-ball six. Warrier was tasked with defending 9, but after not bowling for a few hours, he appeared sluggish and conceded a few wides in addition to an outside-edge four. Warrier acquired Indrajith when just one was required, but Ajitesh maintained his nerve to bring Nellai home.
