Nadal's Conditional Participation in Davis Cup Singles Match
Despite announcing his retirement from tennis on Oct. 10, Rafael Nadal is set to be part of the Spain team aiming for victory at the tournament in Malaga, facing the Netherlands in the quarterfinals. However, Nadal has made it clear that he won't compete in singles at his farewell Davis Cup appearance next month unless he is "100% sure" he can secure a win.
Currently, Nadal is participating in the Six Kings Slam in Saudi Arabia, where he is scheduled to compete against Novak Djokovic in the third-fourth match playoffs after both players lost their semifinals on Thursday. His defeat to Carlos Alcaraz in Riyadh was Nadal's first match back on court since his retirement announcement. Following that defeat, he stated that unless he feels physically ready, his appearance in the singles for Spain next month isn't guaranteed.
