Manchester City Remains Dominant Despite Pending Contract Terminations
Manchester City, in spite of facing the potential termination of Pep Guardiola and Kevin De Bruyne's contracts, 115 charges, and key player transfers, continues to dominate the Premier League. With their tireless performance on opening day at Stamford Bridge, it is clear that Manchester City is not planning to wind down.
Even without the services of Julián Álvarez, who is off to Atletico Madrid, and Rodri, Foden, Walker, Stones, Grealish, and Aké, the team still recorded a 2-0 victory. Mateo Kovacic and Erling Haaland poured excellent gameplay to seal their first goal.
It is worth noting the chemistry and synchronicity in Manchester City's gameplay, a testament to their history and years of playing together. New players included they still synchronize at a level way above Chelsea's current setup. The blue lions' struggle is evident with their new manager Enzo Maresca and his disrupted summer due to the looming PSR penalties.
But Chelsea should not be entirely written off. There were shades of a positive comeback, seen in the performances of Romeo Lavia and Levi Colwill and near-equalizing efforts. Maresca, however, has some choices to make, especially amidst potential point deductions from the PSR regulations. It hangs on how Maresca strategizes using his available pieces to advance Chelsea.
