Uncertainty Surrounds Gujarat Titans' Management and Coaching Staff Ahead of IPL Mega Auction

Gujarat Titans' management, the Indian Premier League (IPL) team currently owned by CVC Capital, is reportedly considering a revamp of their coaching ahead of the mega auction later this year. The team's current management, spread across the UK, Mumbai, and Singapore, might be changing the coaching staff for the next season which includes the Director of Cricket Vikram Solanki, Head Coach Ashish Nehra, and Gary Kirsten as the mentor and batting coach. 

An array of factors could be prompting this discussion, despite the impressive track record of the team under the partnership of Nehra-Solanki-Kirsten, yielding a championship in the debut year in 2022 and a runner-up finish in 2023. Gary Kirsten has already moved to the Pakistan team, while it appears Solanki might be the only one to escape the overhaul, leaving Nehra's position in doubt.

Also, speculations are rife about a potential shift in team's ownership from CVC Capital to either Torrent Pharma or Adani Group. However, any potential transfer needs to wait till February next year, due to the three-year lock-in period rule for franchise shares. Thus, the current management under CVC would likely oversee at least one more season, including the auction expected to take place in December.

Amidst these uncertainties, Kumar Sangakkara's potential shift to England and Wales Cricket Board leaves a void in Rajasthan Royals' head coach position, with Rahul Dravid sounding a probable successor. As mentioned by Sangakkara, while there hasn't been any formal approach, the prospect of an England white-ball job is an exciting one, but also clarifies his current comfort at Royals.
