Uncertain Future for Bangladesh Bowler Ebadot Hossain Ahead of World Cup
Officials from the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) have confirmed that they are considering sending him abroad for a second opinion on his condition. Ebadot had to withdraw from the Asia Cup due to the lack of expected recovery after rehabilitation.
To address his injury, the BCB plans to send Ebadot and the newly-appointed Australian physio and rehabilitation manager, Kiron Thoms, for a check-up session in England. Ebadot sustained an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury during an ODI series against Afghanistan last month. The severity of the injury may require surgery, which would likely rule him out of the World Cup.
The cricket board is taking this matter seriously and wants Ebadot to consult with a knee specialist overseas. They are exploring all available options to ensure his recovery. However, managing his workload has been challenging for Ebadot, leading to his exclusion from the Asia Cup squad.
There is hope that Ebadot can resolve his issues and participate in the World Cup, but time is running out. The squad announcement is imminent, and the coach needs clarity on his condition to plan strategies accordingly. Tanzim Shakib has replaced Ebadot in the Asia Cup squad.
