Rohit Sharma & Ishan Kishan will open the batting for Mumbai Indians, IPL 2022
Mumbai Indians (MI) skipper Rohit Sharma has unveiled the five-time champions' starting lineup for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022, which would be the league's 15th edition.
On March 27, Rohit Sharma and his teammates will kick off their Indian Premier League 2022 campaign against Rishabh Pant's Delhi Capitals (DC) at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai.
The match will be held on 27th March at 3.30PM IST at Brabourne – CCI, Mumbai.
Meanwhile, Rohit has announced that he will begin the innings in the forthcoming premier competition with youthful and most expensive player in the IPL mega auction (he was bought for INR 15.25 crore) this year - wicketkeeper-batsman Ishan Kishan.
“I will open the batting. I’ve been doing that in the past so I’m looking forward to open with Ishan,” Rohit gave his respons to Hindustan Times.
Mahela Jayawardena, the Mumbai Indians' head coach, was also pleased to have Rohit and Ishan as openers. “I think Rohit and Ishan is a good combination up top and Ishan is also a wicketkeeper, and there are very few who can bat in the top-three.”
