Sri Lanka tour of Australia 2022: all you need to know
Sri Lanka tour of Australia starts on 11th February, 2022 and will take place in Australia, for a 5 match T20I series. The last three T20Is have been relocated from Adelaide and Queensland, in a bid to minimise risks related to biosecurity during the series. The matches will now be held at the Sydney Cricket Ground, Manuka Oval and Melbourne Cricket Ground.
It will be Australia's first series since head coach Justin Langer stepped down, with interim coach Andrew McDonald taking over. As they prepare for the T20 World Cup later this year, Australia will be eager to get some much-needed match experience at home.
Kusal Mendis and Danushka Gunathilaka have been restored by Sri Lanka after they were suspended for violating the Covid policy. The team will be led by Dasun Shanaka. Australia will be without David Warner and Mitchell Marsh, who will be joining the group for the next Pakistan trip. Ben McDermott, the BBL Player of the Year, is on the team.
