Match Review

On Monday, October 24, at the Bellerive Oval, Hobart. Bangladesh and Netherlands played in the 17th match of the Super 12, T20 World Cup, 2022.

The Netherlands' attempt will leave them terribly disappointed! They bowled so beautifully but batted just as poorly. Simply put, the run outs did not advance their cause. Their inning consisted only of Colin. He was scoring freely and it appeared as though he was batting on a different surface.

Bangladesh managed to score 144/8 in 20 overs after being asked to bat first. Bangladesh's bowling performance was excellent! We thought they were perhaps 15 to 20 runs short at the end of the first innings, but their bowlers rose to the challenge, and they won to start their season. Taskin caused the most damage earlier because he took two wickets in the opening over, which put them squarely on the back foot.

Brief Score

Bangladesh have scored 144 for 8 in 20 overs (Najmul Hossain Shanto 25, Soumya Sarkar 14, Litton Das 9, Shakib Al Hasan 7, Afif Hossain 38, Yasir Ali 3, Nurul Hasan (wk) 13, Mosaddek Hossain 20, Taskin Ahmed 0, Hasan Mahmud 0, Extras 15)

Netherlands have scored 135 for 10 in 20 overs (Max ODowd 8, Vikramjit Singh 0, Bas de Leede 0, Colin Ackermann 62, Tom Cooper 0, Scott Edwards (c & wk) 16, Tim Pringle 1, Logan van Beek 2, Shariz Ahmad 9, Fred Klaassen 7, Paul van Meekeren 24, Extras 6)
