Match Review
On Friday, September 9, at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium, Dubai, Sri Lanka and Pakistan played in the Super Four match of the Asia Cup, 2022.
In the Asia Cup, Sri Lanka is continuing its comeback as they once again demonstrate their superior chasing abilities. In the fifth over, they lost DDS, but the knowledge of that middle-order merely made them feel more at ease. While Bhanuka Rajapaksa retaliated by playing his shots against the spin, Nissanka hung on to score a fifty. He persisted till the very end, but the newcomer Hasaranga only needed three balls to complete the chase.
Pakistan put on a spirited bowling display, but it was evident that their two new bowlers, Hasan Ali and Usman Qadir, were still getting their bearings. They were the only two bowlers to average more than eight per over, which is extremely pricey while chasing.
