Match review:

India has therefore won the first game of the series. Rain delayed play at the beginning, which was unpleasant, but at least we got a 12-over game with lots of activity.

India's captain, Pandya: A series win is a great way to begin. Starting with a victory is crucial for us as a squad. Very pleased with it. He's been great for his business (Umran Malik). But after speaking with him, I received the impression that he would feel more at ease with the older ball. Ireland played outstanding batting, so we had to return to our primary bowlers. Maybe he'll get a complete shot in the next game. He made several quite impressive shots (Tector).

Ireland's captain, Balbirnie, says it's never simple to get at the field, warm up completely, and then there is a delay. The groundsmen deserve praise. Tector batted brilliantly to get the total. We had both good and negative traits. You need to be strong while playing a team like India. Harry has been playing excellent one-day cricket, and today was no exception.

Player of the Game: Chahal really challenging (in these cold conditions). Today, I felt like a finger spinner (smiles). It might be challenging at times, but you must adjust to every circumstance. I am free to bowl anything I want, according to Hardik. The atmosphere is rather relaxed. I'm now covered in three sweaters, so no, I'm not OK.

India lit up the pursuit with a lot of fireworks. In a 12-over game, they sped home with 16 balls remaining. The mayhem began with some vicious shots from Ishan Kishan, and continued with more of the same from Hooda and Pandya. Ireland earlier made a strong comeback to post 108. Before Tector hammered 64 off 33 balls, they had sunk to 22/3 after four overs. On a ground that had been freshened by the rain, movement was available the entire time. But on these close margins, the ball was all over the place. However, India had two bowlers, Bhuvi and Chahal, who stood out with outstanding performances.

Brief score:

India 111 for 3 in 9.2 overs (Deepak Hooda 47, Ishan Kishan 26, Suryakumar Yadav 0, Hardik Pandya 24, Dinesh Karthik 5, Extras 9)

     Ireland 108 for 4 in 12 overs (Stirling 4, Balbirnie 0, Delany 8, Harry Tector 64, Tucker 18, Dockrell 4, Extras 10

Who is the winner?

India won by 7 wickets with 111/3 Score in 9.2 Overs. Match reduced to 12 overs per side due to rain.
