Aryna Sabalenka's Redemption at 2024 US Open

Suffering a disappointing loss to Coco Gauff at the 2023 US Open final, Aryna Sabalenka left the court devastated and wondering where she went wrong. Following this defeat, however, she vowed to learn from her loss and return stronger. A year later, Sabalenka regains her strength and defeats Jessica Pegula to claim the 2024 US Open title - her third major title. Overjoyed, she addressed her past heartbreaks and the tough lessons she had to go through to raise her beautiful trophy, referring to herself as the happiest person in the world.  

Earlier in 2024, Sabalenka had won the Australian Open title by defeating Qinwen Zheng with her powerful and aggressive gameplay. It marked her sixth consecutive appearance in a major semifinal or better. Yet, heartache arrived when her former partner, retired professional hockey player Konstantin Koltsov, took his own life just before her Miami Open match, casting a shadow over her victories.
