IPL 2022: Lucknow Super Giants full squad
From the 15th season onwards, the Lucknow Super Giants will be one of two new franchises in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Sanjeev Goenka's RPSG Group owns the squad, which is situated in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh.
RPSG Group secured the rights to manage LSG with a bid of approximately Rs 7,090 crore, making it the most expensive franchise in IPL history. The BRSABV Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow will host the team's home matches.
LSG selected KL Rahul as their captain ahead of the IPL 2022 big auction, earning him the league's joint highest-paid player. Marcus Stoinis and Ravi Bishnoi were also bought by the franchise.
Gautam Gambhir, a former India batsman, has been hired as the team's strategist and mentor.
As to LSG’s strategy for upcoming IPL 2022, here what’s Gambhir said, “I think it's a great opportunity to create a legacy and create something which has never been created before. We don't want to copy anyone; we need to have our own template; we need to have our own legacy as well. And what better than when you have no baggage.”
