     On Saturday, December 10, at the Lusail Iconic Stadium, Netherlands and Argentina played in the Quarter-Final 2 match of the FIFA World Cup 2022 match.

     Deep into the second half, Lionel Messi gave Argentina a 2-0 lead with a goal and an assist, but Wout Weghorst scored twice in the dying minutes to give Netherlands the lead and make it 2-2. The game went into a penalty shootout because none of the two sides was able to increase their score in the extra period. 

     Argentina eventually won the penalty shootout 4-3 thanks to some excellent saves from Emiliano Martinez. The semi-final matchup between the South Americans and Croatia is officially set.
