POGBA, ARCHER AND SINGH LEAD #ILOVEUNITED INDIA
#ILOVEUNITED, Manchester United's famous fan event, returns for its 7th season, putting the fans' choice of future event locations in their hands.
Fans will be able to vote on which Indian city will host the next on-the-ground #ILOVEUNITED event in an interactive virtual event. Paul Pogba and Jofra Archer, both World Cup champions, will join forces for an exclusive in-depth debate. Yuvraj Singh, a cricket legend, is one of the celebrities that will be attending the live event.
Due to ongoing travel restrictions, the current edition of the event, which is dedicated to serving and honoring the club's ardent following in India, will take the shape of an interactive virtual experience.
Fans will also get the option to vote on which city should host the event the next time it is hosted on Indian soil as part of the 90-minute pre-match program prior of the important Premier League fixture with Leeds United on Sunday 20 February.
Six fans from around India will represent their city in the event's first-ever 'Fan Panel,' with the help of United's primary shirt sponsor TeamViewer, and the audience will be asked to vote for their favorite via the club's official app.
Kolkata, New Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Chennai, and Bangalore are vying to host the next event.
The performance will be streamed globally through Manchester United's online, app, and MUTV platforms, as well as Facebook and YouTube, so fans from all around the world will be able to watch it. The current edition will provide unique behind-the-scenes access and insight into the first team, as well as special visits from some known personalities, especially towards the club's Indian supporters. Fans will be able to interact with the show, ask questions, and participate in competitions to win a variety of special goodies.
Manchester United’s Director of Partnerships, Sean Jefferson, comments: “We enjoyed tremendous success last season with the evolution of #ILOVEUNITED from a purely physical event to an interactive virtual experience and we can’t wait to share with fans this latest edition.
“We recognise the importance of being able to provide our overseas fans with face to face, in-person engagement. As travel restrictions begin to ease, we are looking forward to one day returning to India with a physical #ILOVEUNITED event, and are excited to offer our fans the opportunity to choose the city we visit.”
Fans who register for the event by Tuesday, February 15, 2022, will get the opportunity to meet United icon Dimitar Berbatov in a virtual meet-and-greet prior to the main event. They will also be placed into a drawing to win a variety of rewards from the club's commercial partners.
