Shift in Venue for India-Bangladesh T20I Announced by BCCI

The first T20I between India and Bangladesh, originally scheduled to be held in Dharamsala, will now be played in Gwalior, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced. The decision for the change in venue was driven by the ongoing upgrades and renovation work in the dressing rooms at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association's facility. The match will continue to be played on October 6 at the newly constructed Shrimant Madhavrao Scindia Cricket Stadium, marking the first international match in Gwalior since Sachin Tendulkar's double century in an ODI against South Africa.

Furthermore, there is a venue swap for the first and second T20Is against England. While the dates (January 22 and 25 respectively) remain unchanged, the first match will now be hosted by Kolkata instead of Chennai. Consequently, MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, which was previously chosen to kick-off the series, will be the setting for the second T20I. The BCCI confirmed that the change in venue was necessitated following a request from the Kolkata Police to the Cricket Association of Bengal due to their pre-existing Republic Day commitments and obligations.
