India's Young Guns Shine: Squad Announcement for Zimbabwe T20I Tour

Abhishek Sharma, a standout performer for Punjab and Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL, receives his first national call-up after an impressive season where he topped the six-hitting charts with 42 maximums in 16 games. Riyan Parag, who excelled for Rajasthan Royals, earning the third spot in the run-getters list, joins Sharma in the squad for the first time, showcasing his dual batting and spin bowling skills.

Dhruv Jurel, known for his strong start in Test cricket against England, continues to impress selectors despite a lukewarm IPL season, particularly for his lower-order hitting prowess. Nitish Reddy's all-round potential earns him a place in the squad as India seeks a backup for Hardik Pandya, with his batting standing out over his bowling skills.

Tushar Deshpande, a talented pacer from Mumbai, makes his debut in the national squad, recognized for his consistent performances in domestic cricket and successful stints with Chennai Super Kings in the IPL. The squad also features established players who have been regular fixtures in the Indian team over the past few years, including Sanju Samson, Ruturaj Gaikwad, and Yashasvi Jaiswal.

Khaleel Ahmed eyes a comeback opportunity after being included in the squad, providing left-arm pace options alongside Avesh Khan and Mukesh Kumar. Washington Sundar and Ravi Bishnoi are the designated spinners for the series.

The T20I tour begins on July 6 at the Harare Sports Club, with the remaining matches scheduled over the following eight days.
