India vs South Africa 1st Test: KL Rahul ton helps INDIA to end day at 272/3

As India made a near-perfect start to the Test series against South Africa, KL Rahul played a beautiful performance in challenging conditions on the way to his sixth overseas century.

With a 117-run stand, Rahul (122 batting off 248) and opener Mayank Agarwal (60) set the tone for India, helping the visitors to reach 272 for three at stumps.

Virat Kohli (35 off 94) fell victim to a poor shot after putting in a lot of effort while under pressure. Cheteshwar Pujara was only able to play one ball. At the finish of play, Rahul and Ajinkya Rahane (40 batting off 81), who, like Pujara, is fighting for his position in the team, were in the middle. Rahane looked in fantastic form on day two and will be looking for a huge score.

South Africa's pacers, with the exception of Lungi Ngidi, who took all of the wickets on the day, were not probing enough in their line and lengths and provided too many loose deliveries.
