Historic Final Qualification: Swapnil Kusale's Redemption Journey

Indian shooter Swapnil Kusale has qualified for the finals of men's 50m rifle 3-position after securing 7th position in the qualification round with a score of 590/600. Kusale had an unfortunate failure at the final of last year's Asian Games; he was leading the game until a poor shot cost him a potential medal and dropped him to the fourth position.

Meanwhile, Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar, the other Indian participant, could not make it to the top eight due to one bad series in the standing round, he finished in the 11th spot.

Despite not scoring a perfect series of 100, Kusale's consistent performance and a good record of three 99s and two 98s ensured him a spot in the competition.

In terms of how he qualified for the Olympics, Kusale secured a quota for India in this category. He performed well in the trials to earn a place in the squad, despite a shaky final round. Nevertheless, his performances in the first three rounds guaranteed him a spot in the squad.

Reflecting on his previous big final at the Asian Games, despite starting strong and leading the game in the first rounds, a poorly executed shot during a crucial moment caused his drop from first place to fourth. However, this experience has prepared him for his first Olympic final. There's no room for error this time, and he is ready to seize the chance to win a medal.
