India and Bangladesh to Host the Next Two Editions of the Asia Cup

According to the Invitation for Expression of Interest (IEOI) from the Asian Cricket Council, India and Bangladesh have been confirmed as the hosts for the next two editions of the Asia Cup. India, boasting eight titles and being the defensive champions, has previously hosted the event back in 1990 when they were victorious against Sri Lanka in the final.

The format of the tournament has changed since 2016 to also incorporate the T20 format. With the T20 World Cup scheduled for 2026, the Asia Cup's 2025 edition is set to follow the 20-over format.

Bangladesh, hosting the 2027 edition, will present the tournament in the ODI format, correlating with the 50-over World Cup happening in South Africa the same year. Thirteen matches will be played in each edition, featuring regular participants India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Afghanistan, with a sixth spot decided through a qualifying tournament.
