Match Review

On Monday, October 31, at the Gabba, Brisbane, Australia and Ireland played in the 31st match of the Super 12, T20 World Cup, 2022.

Australia's triumph at the Gabba was significant. With the new ball, they bowled exceptionally well. If not for Lorcan Tucker's outstanding 71-run innings, the Irish's situation might have been much worse. With slashing yorkers, Mitchell Starc took two significant wickets in his opening over. On his way back from COVID-19, Adam Zamapa also had a stellar performance.

In the second inning, Mathew Wade served as the team's captain due to Aaron Finch's hamstring injury. Finch had earlier scored 63 runs off 44 balls in the first innings, with the assistance of Mitchell Marsh (22), Marcus Stoinis (35), and others (25).

Australia have scored 179 for 5 in 20 overs (David Warner 3, Aaron Finch 63, Mitchell Marsh 28, Glenn Maxwell 13, Marcus Stoinis 35, Tim David 15, Matthew Wade (wk) 7, Extras 15)
