KL Rahul said he hoped for some wetness on the wicket during the toss in order to make the most of the conditions (with the ball). In the end, after a few shaky overs, the Indian seamers discovered plenty of movement and fell into a good rhythm.

Deepak Chahar started it by taking off the top three, while Siraj added his contribution by taking important wickets like Williams. Also extremely excellent was Prasidh Krishna, who secured a well-earned three-wicket haul that featured Sikandar Raza, Zimbabwe's finest batter in recent memory.
