About

The newest group of extraordinary, internationally renowned cricket players who have committed to take part in the inaugural competition was announced on Thursday by the UAE's International League T20 (ILT20). The league strengthens its roster by adding more deserving names to its list of marquee players after recently announcing some of the greatest names in T20 cricket worldwide.

Kieron Pollard, Nicholas Pooran, Dwayne Bravo, Dasun Shanaka, Ollie Pope, and Fazalhaq Farooqi are among those entering this esteemed group.

What they said

The general secretary of Emirates Cricket, Mubashshir Usmani, commented on the most recent list of players joining the League as follows: "The calibre of talent that is committed to taking part in the ILT20 continues to astound our team. We are excited to see new, exciting talent join such seasoned names from international cricket. We are very pleased to see the list of marquee players gain in stature, which is evident in our most recent reveal."

Will Smeed, Rehan Ahmed, Jordan Thompson, Sheldon Cottrell, Andre Fletcher, Tom Kohler-Cadmore, Bas de Leede, Chris Benjamin, and Bilal Khan are other players that have recently been revealed.

Overview

The first ILT20, which has acquired multi-year ICC permission, will be contested in a 34-match format across the UAE's exceptional, top-notch cricket venues in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Sharjah starting in January (2023). Reliance Industries, Kolkata Knight Riders, Capri Global, GMR, Lancer Capital, and Adani Sportsline are a few of the franchise owners.

The International League T20 (ILT20) League would be played during the window of January 6 and February 12, 2023, the Emirates Cricket Board announced in June.

The competition will also give Emirates Cricket a great opportunity to elevate the level of local talent development. Players from the UAE who are currently a part of the board's programme as well as those chosen by the high-performance coaching and selection committee teams will have the chance to train and compete alongside some of the best minds in the world at the present time.
