World Cup-Winning Bowler Munaf Patel Joins Delhi Capitals as Bowling Coach

It has been announced that the World Cup-winning fast bowler Munaf Patel has officially joined the Delhi Capitals' new support staff as the bowling coach. The franchise confirmed this on Tuesday, November 12. Patel will team up in a support staff led by Venugopal Rao, the Director of Cricket, and Hemang Badani, the Head Coach.

Earlier this year, the franchise decided to end their association with their long-serving head coach Ricky Ponting. Venugopal Rao and Hemang Badani, the new coaching group, were then given the duty of recruiting the remaining support staff. Munaf is stepping into a role previously held by James Hopes.

Patel, who has represented India in all three formats, has also participated in 63 IPL games during his tenure with Rajasthan Royals, Mumbai Indians, and Gujarat Lions, taking 74 wickets at an economy of 7.51. He last participated in an IPL game in 2017.
